PROGRAM:
EIT under Horizon2020
DESCRIPTION:
The project is one of the projects carried out by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s Urban Mobility Community, whose main objective is to develop a pilot solution in the form of a mobile application with the character of a journey planner. The difference in relation to existing solutions in this field is the user-orientation and suggesting routes on the basis of personal – defined by the users themselves – travel preferences. As a part of the Project, analytical tools will be developed to create a travel planner and a pilot application. Tests of the application will be carried out in two European cities: Munich and Lublin. The project will enable understanding and research of travel preferences, allowing better planning of the city’s transport policy and provision of services at the highest level. In addition, the application will enable the selection of sustainable mobility services

PROGRAM:
URBACT
DESCRIPTION:
The main implementation goals we have achieved as a Network Partner are:
- Supporting an integrated approach, including: securing horizontal, vertical and territorial integration as a whole; exploring alternative administrative structures and business models that will support integration within traditional structures;
- Involving local stakeholders, including: reaching out to creative entrepreneurs and keeping them involved in development processes; overcoming stereotypes about bureaucracy to keep local stakeholders engaged in the long term and more responsive to local needs; allocating resources to integrate diverse stakeholder groups; issues of mobilising residents; finding and supporting ‘catalysts’ (the most innovative people) to act as leaders of change;
- Impact measurement, including: development of indicators to measure the impact of creative enterprises; diagnosis of ways in which creative people and their initiatives can be recognised, acknowledged and valued in the public sphere; identification of new ways to evaluate success and failure (selection of indicators), ways to measure innovation/experimentation and create space for it (flexible, temporary, low cost);
- Moving away from strategies to operational action plans, including: assessment of all public buildings for potential rental to the creative industries; preparation of a joint action plan for the creative industries in collaboration with stakeholders; new rules and regulations for regional and urban planning (flexible planning schemes), emphasising systemic provision of empty shops and blocks; better use of new transport infrastructure to adapt to the New Economy (social, ecological, creative, knowledge-based) and create new jobs and businesses;
- Strengthening the financing of development policies through financial innovation, including: seeking out and recruiting the most experienced officials and in-house experts to carry out implementation activities; developing effective operational and financial mechanisms; developing and implementing innovative practices to promote transitional solutions; According to the Law on Municipal Self-Government, municipalities support tools to reduce unemployment, activate the labour market by undertaking promotional and marketing activities. These tools should be better used for the benefit of creative industries. By working within the URBACT Implementation Network, we will be better able to address the challenges mentioned.
